TG

The indicium on this and most of the next eight or ten items shows the colossal statue "Bavaria", which stands in front of the "Ruhmeshalle", or Hall of Freedom in Munich. Unveiled in 1850, it was erected by Ludwig I, as a memorial for 'outstanding citizens of Bavaria'. - ed.

TG

Per PC - view card, official issue

1992 - GER.36: Here we have ICE (Inter city Express) in the indicium. The illustration (of an archeological dig!) seems to be about the German Philatelists' Day - no railway as far as I can see.

TG

1993 - GER.21: Ditto, 1993. Design ICE Train (Cachet added)

TG

The scene behind the train is a wider view of the scene on the indicium, i.e., the colossal statue "Bavaria", in front of the "Ruhmeshalle", or Hall of Freedom in Munich. I doubt the train tracks run directly in front of the statue.
