(1) The Airgraph Service is available only for messages to:— (a) Personnel of His Majesty's Army and Royal Air Force serving with the Middle East Force and tbe East African Force and (b) Personnel of His Majesty's ships operating in the Eastern Mediterranean. No information concerning the location of His Majesty's Ships can be furnished by the Post Office, and it must rest with the sender to decide whether or not to use the Airgraph Service. Airgraph lettors addressed to His Majesty's ships which are not in a locality served by tae Airgraph service will be despatched by ordinary mail. (2) Nothing should be written on this side of the paper. (3) The whole of the message should be written on the other side above the double line. (4) The name and address to which the message is to be sent should be written in large BLOCK letters below the double line in the panel provided. The address of Airgraph letters for the Middle East Force and the East African Force should comprise: Army or Air Force Number, Rank, Name, Squadron, Battery, Company or other section of the unit, Army or Royal Air Force Unit (including in the latter case the letters "R.A.F."), followed by the words "Middle East Force" or "East African Force," as the case may be. For example:— 123456 Private John Brown, A Company, 2nd Battalion Blankshire Regt., Middle East Force, or East African Force, as the case may be. The address of Airgraph letters for His Majesty's ships operating in the Eastern Mediterranean should comprise: Rank, Name, Number if known, name of ship, followed by the words "c/o G.P,O., London, E.C.1." For example:— A.B. Tom Bowling, JX12345, H.M.S. (name of ship), c/o G.P.O., London, E.C.1. A miniature photographic negative of the message and address will he made and sent by air mail. At the destination end a photographic print, measuring about 6 inches by 4 inches, will be made and delivered to the addressee. It is therefore important that the message should be written very plainly and that the address should be written as large as possible in BLOCK letters. Wherever possible, black ink should be used. The use of pencil is not recommended, but if it is used it wust be a "B" pencil. Very small writing is not suitable. Stamps to the value of 3d. should be affixed in the space provided above. The completed form should then be handed in at any Post Office. If preferred, the completed form (with stamps to the value of 3d. affixed in the space above) may be forwarded to London in an envelope which should be addressed to:— "Airgraph," Foreign Section, London." In that case it is desirable that a large envelope should be used and that the form should be folded as few times as possible. If it is desired to send more than one sheet a separate form must be completed and stamps to the value of 3d. must be affixed to each form. The original will be retained by the Post Office and eventually destroyed.
