Note the different positioning of the image and its title on the two items shown,
making it clear they were printed separately from the indicium, lines, and offical text.

H&G ?? - 189? (used 1898) - 4¢ (?) Postal Card - Cachet view of "ESTACION F.C. DEL SUD"
This is probably another copy of the item directly above, but the cancel obscures
the denomination, and it's a nice usage to Germany, so I'm including it.

New Year letter-sheets, H&G G3a,
1900, 5c, postal indicium on outer side, photographic composite design including steam
locomotive and cars on interior. Cream paper, indicium orange, interior design pale blue
with brown in oval. According to H&G this was officially produced and issued, with six
different interior designs, each in three different color combinations, making, in
theory, 18 different items, but the designs are neither shown nor described, so there's
no way to tell how many show a train. One of the color varieties is shown at left.
2/12/03 - I just learned that in addition to the color combinations, the
pairings of outer and inner designs are also varied, so the number of possible items is
much larger.

New Year letter-sheets, H&G G11,
1902, 5c on 15c, postal indicia on outer side, photographic composite designs including
trains on interior. Three different interiors with same indicium. According to H&G,
these were issued "with the same designs as H&G G3", yet all of the ones shown differ
both in layout and content from the examples of G3 I have seen, so either H&G is wrong,
or I am misinterpreting it. . |
