As I say elsewhere, the rail-related postal stationery issues of Romania are too
numerous for me to attempt to list them all here, especially as there is an excellent
catalog (Eriksson - see bottom of page 3 of this series of pages). However, as the intent of these
pages is to educate viewers about the types of material that have been produced, I am
showing here what I consider a representative sample of the Romanian material.
One nice feature of Romanian issues since about 1960 is the numbering (Cod) printed
on each item. Unfortunately, these are not always unique from a collector's point of
view. They seem to relate to the cachet, rather than the stamp, so there can be items
with the same cachet but different stamps. Nonetheless, the Cod number simplifies things
tremendously. In addition, there are many varieties of paper, so a collector determined
to own EVERYTHING might find several versions of each item shown below.
NOTE that I am still working on the descriptions for most of the items shown here,
but as the images stand on their own to some extent, I am publishing this in an
incomplete state.
June 19, 2004 - See new page 4, with contributions from a Romanian
collector.
