I like Maisto, and own as many as Greenlight and JL and HW,
but that does inlude some (12 of them below) that are not at all realistic, and appear to be aimed at kids - their MY VERY FIRST WHEELS line,
for instance. Their adult/collector cars (30 of those) are high-quality, and nicely detailed, but like JL, they don't worry
about authenticity. They also have an annoying habit of packaging cars in combos with tow trucks and wreckers, so you have to buy two vehicles to get the one you want. Five of the ones below are that type. Sometimes one can find the cars separately on eBay, so I did get a few that way. One thing I like particularly about Maisto, though, is that most of their cars have numbers on the roof. I can't say why that appeals to me, but it does. I have divided the MAISTO cars below into the two groups mentioned above - first the adult models, then the kid stuff. NOTE: MAISTO x INTEX x M.C. TOYS x ZEE toys - these brands are all related, and some of the vehicles below can be found in identical versions with different brands on the packaging and/or vehicle. Except to a highly obsessive specialist, there is no difference in the values. FOR AN EXAMPLE OF THIS, see Maisto 1980 Ford Escort 1.6l v2, which I bought NIP on eBay. The package says INTEX and ZEE on the front, and MAISTO on the back, AND the toy from inside says M.C. TOY on its bottom. |
