THE POSTER STAMPS OF F. G. COOPER

THRIFTY ALEXANDER

(signed)

Printed by Harvey Blodgett Co of St Paul, Minn, this 1914 set of 52 stamps
tells the life story of Alexander, and how he prospered
through hard work and thrift.

It was aimed at banks, who could have their own names added at the bottom
and then either give them away, or sell them.

In 1922, Blodgett, who wrote the rhymes for the stamps as well,
published the images and text as a cute little (4"x6") book.
I found one on the www recently, and snappped it up, so I could display it below.
There's a biography of Cooper, who could have been the inspiration for Alexander's story, it seems.
