Related Organizations
IFEF - International Federation of Esperantist Railway Workers
The governing body of the official Esperanto movement is
the UEA
(Universala Esperanto-Asocio = World Esperanto Association).
It coordinates the movement worldwide, and puts on the
International Congresses.
Regional, national and local organizations report to it, and make
up the official Esperanto infrastructure.
But there are other organizations, social, religious, and political - some directly
affiliated with the formal Esperanto movement, others independent of it - that also
use Esperanto in conducting their affairs, and are an important part of the
Esperanto movement. This page shows the poster stamps issued by some of them.
CEKIT

CEKIT
|
CEKIT stood for Centro por Esperanto en Komerco Industrio kaj Turismo
(Center for Esperanto in Commerce, Industry, and Tourism),
obviously an organization devoted to promoting Esperanto in those areas.
It had offices in Milan. I can find nothing about it on the www, so
apparently it does not exist today.
|
EKIK
|
EKIK is another defunct Esperanto organization.
Its initials stood for Esperantajojn Kolektanta Internacia Klubo,
which means something like International Esperanto Ephemera Collectors Club -
Google does not recognize the word "esperantajojn" so I'm guessing a bit at that translation.

IFEF - 1961
French Esperantist Railway Workers and Philatelists - 1948
|
The IFEF still exists, and is a very active organization of railway workers who support the Esperanto movement.
They held their 66th world congress in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, in May of 2014.

Catholic Esperantists
|
The Catholic Church has been a supporter of Esperanto from early on. The International Catholic Esperanto Union (IKUE)
was formed in 1910.

SAT
|
One of the largest and most active Esperanto organizations is the
SAT - Sennacieca Asocio Tutmonda, or World Non-National Association,
which Wikipedia describes as "an independent worldwide cultural Esperanto association of a general left-wing orientation."
It holds yearly world congresses, for which many poster stamps have been issued. The earliest I have seen was from 1928 (at right),
and the most recent is 1986. All I know of are shown below. Click for enlargements.
