Sokol postcard, German spelling deleted, with vignette of the II. Slet's painting by
František Ženišek (1849-1916)
, and text:
"Remember brothers' units in danger" franked with Franz Josef 5 h.
stamp cancelled with Cesky Dub bi-lingual postmark dated 26.10.00; addressed to Semily,
and bearing its bi-lingual arrival handstamp of the next day. Circular cachet of
Okresní hospodářská záložna
= District Economic Credit. (Záložna is a member-owned financial cooperative
- in the US we would call this a Credit Union).

Štefan Šuták informs me that the message on the postcard above
is a "request to send hectograph mass (gelatin) and ink." I had never even heard of a
hectograph -
